Alpaca Fleece is one of the world's finest
and most luxurious natural fibres. With the
softness of cashmere it is warmer, lighter and
stronger than wool. Occurring naturally in more
colors than any other fiber it has approximately
22 basic colors that can be blended to produce
an infinite array of tones. Beautiful fiber of
exceptional brilliance and extraordinary texture
its fineness varies from 22.5 microns (baby
alpaca); 25.5 microns (Alpaca Super Fine) to 32
microns (thick fibre).
This beautiful fleece, once reserved for
Incan Royalty, is now enjoyed by
spinners, weavers and felters around the world.

People often describe clothing made from alpaca fleece as "soft as cashmere - smooth as silk." The hypo allergenic qualities derive from the absence of natural oils. The smooth surface of each follicle eliminates the "prickle effect" associated with more coarse fibers and contributes to the exquisite luster and luxury of alpaca fleece.
Natural Strength
Alpaca fleece contains a natural resin which protects the wool from aging and getting dirty. This natural resin provides a built-in resistance to water, pilling, wrinkling, and staining.
